Riding high on the stupendous success of Khaidi No 150, megastar Chiranjeevi is teaming up with director Surender Reddy for an upcoming biopic on freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
While the project is currently in pre-production stage, reports suggest that the makers are planning to rope in the VFX team of Baahubali.
To be bankrolled by Ram Charan, the film will chronicle the life story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who is touted as one of the first freedom fighters in India. He was hanged to death on February 22, 1847.
Surender Reddy is known for blockbusters like Kick, Race Gurram and Dhruva.
If things fall in place, Chiranjeevi will be sporting a never-before-seen makeover for the film, which will be set in 1840s.
Meanwhile, megastar Chiranjeevi's Khaidi No 150 is inching close to Rs 150 crore at the box office. The film had a record breaking opening on its first day and raked in more than Rs 47 crore.
Overwhelmed by the response. Ram Charan, who also produced the film, said, "What better way to foray into production than with Khaidi No 150. The film is truly close to my heart because it is my father's 150th film. The kind of love the audiences have shown in the film is overwhelming and humbling."
Grapevine also suggests that Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan are likely to work together in a Telugu film. An official confirmation is awaited.
